about 10 days ago, ella was in the bath and suddenly begged to get down (which means "out"). she asked me to put her on her little potty, and she proceeded to poop. she was so proud of this accomplishment that she made me take pictures (i will spare you the scenic details). the next morning when she woke up it was the first thing she told rudi (he had a show and was not home for the occasion).
later in the week, she woke up in the middle of the night and asked me to take her to the potty, she was so proud again that she was awake for another hour and a half.
yesterday, when i was dressing her in the morning, i asked her (as i have been from time to time), if she wanted to wear a diapie or panties. she chose panties, and she kept them dry all day. she went potty when i asked her to, and if i let her go too long between potty visits she would remind me she needed to go. the last potty visit before we left work, she sat on a chair in the dressing room, little legs swinging and face beaming, singing, "i so happy and proud to me!!! mama is so proud to me!!! dada is so proud to me!!!"
it was the first day in her life that i didn't change one single diaper. :( not that i think they are gone forever--in fact, she decided to wear them today--but watching my baby be a big girl all day long was hard on this mama's heart.
